The condition of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), has improved but he is not out of danger yet.
“Doctors said that his condition has improved 25 percent in the last 24 hours,” party’s acting Chairman GM Quader said at a meeting with leaders of Barishal and Khulna divisions in Dhaka on Thursday.
Ershad was admitted to the CMH on Wednesday morning. He has been suffering from various ailments for the last nine months and received treatment from aboard at different times.
“Doctors said he’s still not out of danger,” Quader, the younger brother of Ershad, said. “It’ll take some time for him to recover.”
Due to his poor health, Ershad on April 6 reinstated Quader as party chairman in his absence and a day later, he donated his assets to a trust.
