Amra Kuri celebrates World Children’s Day

Children’s organisation Amra Kuri celebrated World Children’s Day organising a programme at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.

Children from different Dhaka-based schools like Pallabi Model High School, Dhaka Pre-Cadet and High School and cultural organisations like Mandira Sanskrit Pathshala, Bindu Shishu Dol and others performed at the occasion.

Amra Kuri general secretary Ferdous Ara Bonna gave the welcome speech at the programme, presided over by Amra Kuri chairman Mustak Ahmed Liton.

Former president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, renowned actress Tania Ahmed and others were present as special guests.

Following a discussion, child artistes of Amra Kuri rendered the theme song of the organisation Amra duranta ek jhak payra.

Artistes of Mandira Sanskrit Pathshala and Bindu Shishu Dol staged colourful dance recitals synchronised with the songs Joley uthho Bangladesh, Shoto shohider raktey ranga pataka, Alga korogo khopar badhon and others.

Besides, the children recited poems penned by leading poets at the programme.

Hima recited Jasimuddin’s poem Nimontron, Adiba recited Kazi Nazrul’s Bhor holo dor kholo, Jahid recited Shamsur Rahman’s popular poem Swadhinota Tumi and Neha recited Bapuram Shapure by Sukumar Roy. (NA)
