An additional police force has been deployed in front of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Monday.
Beside extra police, armoured personnel carrier (APC), water cannon and police vans are also present in front of BNP office.
Earlier, BNP announced to hold a rally in front of its Nayapaltan central office in the capital this afternoon to observe what it says ‘democracy-killing day’, marking the first anniversary of the 11th parliamentary election.
But police did nor issue permission to hold the rally yet.
The law enforcers restricted entrance of the activists to the office though the leaders were let in.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will hold a press briefing about the issue later.
