Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday has urged not to confuse the nation with the divisional politics amid the virus.
He made the remarks at a press conference at his residence after paying homage on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and central leaders of the Awami League at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital on the occasion of the Historic Six-point Day.
Mentioning that those who do not observe March 7 and June 7 do not believe in the Spirit of Independence and the Ideology of the Liberation War, the Awami League General Secretary said, “Since the June 7 is on 100 Years of Mujib, its significance is very deep.”
However, in the situation of coronavirus, this year’s Six-point Day is being celebrated in a different context, he also said, calling all to deal with the virus.
Obaidul Quader said now is not the time to do politics. In the current situation, everyone has to face the situation united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “The whole nation is united today under the courageous leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. She is a brave and successful statesman in the crisis. She is working on the challenge of saving people on the one hand and preventing coronavirus on the other,” he added.
After the leaders and workers of the Awami League Central Committee paid their respects, the leaders and workers of the allied and fraternal organizations paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32.
