Work on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project has not stopped even in the coronavirus outbreak across the country. On Wednesday 10 June afternoon, the 31st span has been placed on the 25th and 26th pillars on the Zajira side. Through this, more than four and a half kilometers of the bridge (4650 meters) became visible.
Earlier Wednesday 8 am, the span was brought to the Zajira end by a floating crane from Mawa Kumar Vhog Construction. At half-past two in the afternoon, the work of lifting the span on the pillars 25 and 26 was started. At 3:50 pm, the span is fully placed on the pillars.
Padma Bridge project deputy assistant engineer Md. Humayun Kabir said this is the last span of the Zajira end. Then 10 spans are left to be placed.
