After a two-day break, the adjourned session of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) has begun at 11:30 am on Sunday 14 June. Chaired by Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, the house resumed its today’s season with a discussion on a mourning motion for the death of incumbent MP Mohammed Nasim. Leader of Parliament and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other members were present in the house.
As per parliamentary practice, the Speaker raised a motion of condolence in Parliament at the beginning of the session on a supplementary program. She gave the biography of Awami League presidium member and coordinator of 14 parties alliance Mohammed Nasim. At this time, a condolence motion was raised along with the State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md. Abdullah’s biography. Then the discussion on the life and work of Mohammad Nasim began.
Advocate Mustafa Lutfullah, Dr. Habibe Millat, Mrinal Kanti Das, and others took part in the discussion held in a deeply mournful atmosphere in the midst of coronavirus situation.
Note that the budget session has started on June 10. The next day, on June 11, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presented the budget proposal for the fiscal year 2020-21 in the parliament. After that, the session of the parliament was adjourned for two days.
