Police have written to the immigration police to ban the top four officials of the United Hospital from leaving the country.
The four officials are: United Hospital’s Chairman Hasan Mahmud Raja, Managing Director (MD) Faridur Rahman Khan, CEO Faizur Rahman and Chief Clinical Governance Dr. Abu Sayeed MM Rahman.
On Wednesday 17 June night, DMP’s Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division, Sudip Kumar Chakraborty confirmed the matter.
On May 27, five people have died in a fire at the Coronavirus unit outside the United Hospital’s main building. The family of Anthony Paul, who was killed in the incident, filed a case with Gulshan police station alleging negligence, accusing Chairman, MD, CEO, Chief clinical governance of United Hospital, and a few others.
DC Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said a letter has been sent to the Immigration Department to prevent them from leaving the country for investigating the case. However, no statement has been received yet from the Immigration Department of the Special Branch (SB) of the police.
