Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, a well-known artist of Barindra Sangeet, has been infected with the coronavirus. However, she is physically healthy; Bannya herself confirmed the matter on Sunday night.
“I took the test 12 days ago,” she said. Then it was found positive. Now the physical condition is very good. I will test again in two days. I hope, the corona will come negative this time.”
The popular Bengali artist is currently the chairperson of the dance department of Dhaka University. She has also been working regularly in the field of Rabindra Sangeet Shiksha
Pratishthan.
Bannya received Bangladesh’s highest civilian independence award in 2016 for her contribution to music. Besides, the artist has been awarded various honors including ‘Bangabhushan’ and Firoza Begum Memorial Gold Medal of the West Bengal government.
