Cyber police station is being set up in Dhaka. However, victims from all over the country will get facilities online from this police station.

CID chief and Additional Inspector General Mahbubur informed this at a press conference at the Malibagh office in the capital on Monday. He said the CID would set up a cyber police station. Although the police station will be set up in Dhaka, victims from all over the country will have the opportunity to lodge complaints online.

The CID chief said work was underway to make the CID investigation more dynamic than before. Earlier, the CID had to rely on 60 or 70 per cent verbal confessions in cases. But now they are trying to rely on 60 to 70 percent forensic evidence.

Mahbubur Rahman further said that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police is collecting information about Lakshmipur-2 MP Shahidul Islam Papul who was arrested in Kuwait as a human trafficker.

In this regard, the CID chief said, “We will say everything with evidence. Be patient. A detailed search is going on about him (Papul). We are collecting all kinds of data in this regard. Now the issue is an international issue. So, there are a lot of things to consider. Hopefully, we will be able to collect the data and inform you about this soon.”

“We have received two lists of human traffickers from two government ministries. In addition, many names have been obtained from trafficked victims, their families and embassies in different countries. We are also keeping an eye on them,” he added.
