Bidisha Siddique, the ex-wife of Hussain Muhammad Ershad, is coming to the leadership of the Jatiya Party (JaPa). Bidisha is going to enter politics with the tacit consent of some central leaders of the party and the cooperation of some senior leaders.
The grassroots leaders of Rangpur, known as the base of the Jatiya Party, are also looking at the issue positively. Therefore, Bidisha can make her debut in politics at any time if the Corona epidemic situation is normal. This has been stated by several sources of the Jatiya Party.
However, Japar founder Hussain Muhammad Ershad’s brother GM Quader says that there is no possibility of Bidisha coming to JaPa yet, nor will it happen in the future.
According to party sources, Bidisha’s relationship with Raushan Ershad, the main patron of JaPa, is now normal. She also wants Bidisha to come into the politics of the Jatiya Party. Raushan Ershad is also holding regular talks with Bidisha on various issues. She is also keeping regular inquiries over the phone.
Sources further said that GM Quader is keeping the party in check. Other members of the Ershad family are not being given a place in JaPa politics. Therefore, the members of Ershad’s family will lead to strengthen JaPa without GM Quader. Once the Corona epidemic situation is normal, a decision can be made at any time about the leadership of JaPa.
Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of Rangpur, known as the base of the Jatiya Party, also want Bidisha to enter politics. Rangpur mayor and district Jatiya Party president Mostafizur Rahman said, “If Bidisha comes into politics, we will have no objection.”
However, Bidisha said, “If the people want me, if the grassroots leaders want me, then we can definitely think about being active in politics.” Moreover, the Jatiya Party is not the sole property of anyone. I want the Jatiya Party to practice youth-based and democratic politics. If the grassroots want me, I am willing to work towards that goal,” said Bidisha Siddique.
Regarding the possibility of Bidisha entering politics, Jatiya Party General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Ranga said that Bidisha was expelled from the party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Since then, Bidisha has not been with the Jatiya Party. Even then, if he wants to abide by the rules, he will be welcomed. We believe that Jatiya Party is everyone’s party, all people’s party. Anyone can come to the Jatiya Party at any time.
GM Quader, the current chairman of the party, has ruled out the possibility of Bidisha entering Japanese politics. He said there is no possibility of his coming into politics yet, nor will it be in the future. Besides, I don’t see any need for him in the politics of Jatiya Party.
