Detective Branch (DB) of Police conducted a drive along with Regent Hospital owner Shahed Karim alias Md Shahed. Arms, ammunition and foreign liquor were recovered from his personal car during the drive.
DB informs that the operation conducted on Saturday night in Uttara of the capital.
It has been reported that two cases have been filed in connection with the recovery of ammunition and weapons.
Earlier on Thursday, a Dhaka court placed Md Shahed on a 10-day remand for his alleged involvement in providing fake COVID-19 test reports and embezzling money from patients.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Shahed early Wednesday when he was trying to flee to India through Debhata border in Satkhira district. A firearm and some bullets were also recovered from his possession. Later, Shahed was brought back to Dhaka in a helicopter of the Air Wing of the elite force.
