RAB gets 140 complaints against Shahed in 48 hrs

Various allegations have started to coming against Shahed, Regent Hospital Chairman. Recently, a hotline number was launched by the RAB to receive complaints about him. And there is a huge response.

As of Sunday, 120 complaints had been received by phone and 20 by mail. And most of these allegations are of fraud against Shahed.

The information was given by Lt. Col. Ashiq Billah, Director, Media Branch, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). He said, “We launched a service line (helpline-01777720211) of RAB on July 16 to collect more information about Shahed.” Regent Hospital. The purpose of the service line was to provide legal help to the people who have been deceived by or Md. Shahed or Regent hospital. We have received an unprecedented response. We also call for detailed information in an official e-mail.

Ashiq Billah said the allegations are included embezzling huge sums of money by promising to get jobs and recommending transfers to various offices, filling sand in various places, embezzling money by talking about rod-cement supply, charging extra fees in the name of service at Regent Hospital, issuing fake rickshaw-van licenses. Regent’s MD Masud Parvez and Shahed have also been accused of taking loans over the phone from several public and private banks.

In response to a question about Shahed’s fraud, the RAB director said that there were allegations that Shahed had taken money from ordinary people by promising them government jobs. Besides, Shahed used to do a big part of the transfer business in government service. Many paid him for the transfer.

Are there any of Shahed’s organization among the complainants? Responding to a question from reporters, Ashiq Billah said that the employees of Shahed’s organization had called the RAB. The victims complained that Shahed did not pay them.

“We also get phone calls from abroad about Shahed and Masud,” he said. Many foreigners have called to say that they have been deceived by these two. Those who have called from abroad have complained of money fraud.

The director of the media wing of the RAB, also said that the main part of all the phone calls and e-mails we received were financial transactions. According to the allegations received by us, Shahed has cheated about Tk 10 crore. Complaints will be taken that will be received through this hotline in the next two-three days.
