Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has sealed off the Dhaka Trauma Center and Specialized Hospital Ltd at Shyamoli in the capital for non-renewal of license and violation of conditions.
The order was given in a letter signed by Aminul Hasan, Director of DGHS (Hospital and Clinic) on Tuesday. The letter to the Managing Director of the Dhaka Trauma Center and Specialized Hospital Ltd instructed to suspend its activities in accordance with The Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories Regulation 1982.
Besides, he was asked to give a clear answer within seven days as to why legal action would not be taken against the hospital.
It is learned that the hospital has been closed due to allegations of corruption and irregularities in the examination and treatment of COVID-19. The matter has been informed by the DGHS.
Department officials say the hospital has no license. The investigation also proved that expired medical supplies were being used there.
Dhaka Trauma Center and Specialized Hospital’s license expired before June 30, 2018, but the hospital was still operating. The DGHS has ordered the hospital to suspend operations until the license is renewed.
