Earlier on July 6, RAB conducted separate drives at the Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hospital and arrested eight people for issuing fake Covid-19 test certificates and collecting money from Covid-19 patients. On July 7, a case was filed at Uttara West Police Station against 17 people including the managing director and chairman of Regent Hospital. The case was later handed over to Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB).

On July 15, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Shahed with illegal arms in a special drive from the bank of the Labangaboti river in Komarpur village around 5:00 am.

On July 16, the court granted a 10-day remand to Shahed Karim in a fraud case of Uttara West police station.
