A Dhaka court on Sunday granted eight Regent Hospital employees on a two-day remand again to eight employees on various charges including irregularities in the coronavirus test report.
RAB produced them before the court on Sunday and applied for a five-day remand. Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order.
The accused are Md Ahasan Habib, admin officer of Regent hospital, Md Ahsan Habib Hasan, X-ray technician, Hakim Ali, medical technologist, Rakibul Islam Sumon, project admin of Regent head office, Amit Banik, HR admin manager of head office, Abdus Salam, driver of head office, Abdur Rashid Khan Jewel, executive officer of head office and Mizanur Rahman.
Earlier on July 6, RAB conducted separate drives at the Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hospital and arrested eight people for issuing fake Covid-19 test certificates and collecting money from Covid-19 patients. On July 7, a case was filed at Uttara West Police Station against 17 people including the managing director and chairman of Regent Hospital. The case was later handed over to Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB).
On July 15, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Shahed with illegal arms in a special drive from the bank of the Labangaboti river in Komarpur village around 5:00 am.
On July 16, the court granted a 10-day remand to Shahed Karim in a fraud case of Uttara West police station. On July 26, the court granted him 28 days remand in three cases in Uttara West police station and a case in Uttara East police station. On the same day, his 10-day remand was granted in an arms case in Satkhira.
