The Member of Parliament (MP) from Narail-2 constituency and former Bangladesh one-day captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza arranged food for 700 orphans in 25 orphanages on the occasion of National Mourning Day in Narail on Saturday (August 15). It was organized as a lunch for the orphans in every orphanage of Narail Sadar.
Earlier, after the Zohar prayers, the concerned offered prayers seeking eternal peace of departed souls of Bangabandhu, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of August 15, 1975 massacre.
Chandibarpur UP Chairman Azizur Rahman Bhuiyan, founder of Seemanandapur Azizur Rahman Girls’ Orphanage, said, “I have handed out food among the orphans with my own hands. The children are very happy to get good quality of food. We’ve got an MP so good who always thinks of helpless people and stands by their side. We, the people of Narail, are blessed.”
With giving thanks to MP Mashrafe Bin Mortaza for remembering the orphans on the day of mourning, Hafiz Khan Milon, former science and technology affairs secretary of the district Awami League said that on the 45th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mashrafe once again set a unique example of humanity by feeding the real helpless children.
He further said that on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, high-quality food was served to 700 people in 25 orphanages of Sadar under the supervision of District Awami League General Secretary Nizam Uddin Khan, courtesy of Mashrafe.
