A court in Cox’s Bazar has sent seven people including four accused policemen to jail on completion of their seven-day remand conducted by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in connection to the murder case of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Tamanna Farah sent the seven to jail when they were produced before the court Thursday (Aug 20).
The court sent the seven to jail as the elite force did not apply for a fresh remand to interrogate them.
The four policemen identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Liton Miah and Constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, and Abdullah Al Mamun were named accused among nine policemen in Sinha murder case filed by his older sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous.
The other three suspects Md Nurul Amin, Md Nezamuddin and Md Ayaj were made prime witnesses in two cases which were filed against Shipra Debnath and Shahedul Islam Sifat, who were arrested following Sinha’s death on July 31.
