A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and surrounding areas on Thursday evening.
The earthquake, categorized as a moderate one, was felt at 6:08 pm which lasted about 20 seconds.
Meteorologist Sheikh Farid Ahmed of Patenga Meteorological Office said the epicenter of the 5.3 magnitude quake was Mizoram, India. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
