The court has ordered to seize the belongings of five people, including Anisul Haque, associate editor of Prothom Alo, in the case of the death of Naimul Abrar, a ninth-grade student of Dhaka Residential Model College in an anniversary celebrating program of Kishor Alo, an associate publication of Prothom Alo.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate judge Jashim Uddin passed the order on Wednesday as the accused did not appear in the court. The report on Crook is due on September 20.

Apart from Anisul Haque, those whose goods have been ordered to be seized are Mahitul Alam, senior joint editor of Prothom Alo, Kabir Bakul, head of the event, and activation of Prothom Alo, Shahparan Tushar, executive and Shubhashish Pramanik, executive.

Student Naimul Abrar Rahat was electrocuted on November 1 last year at the founding anniversary of Prothom Alo’s associate publication ‘Kishor Alo’. On November 8, Naimul Abrar’s father Mojibur Rahman filed a case in the court.

According to the case statement, Naimul Abrar took part in the anniversary celebration of Kishor Alo, a monthly youth magazine, on November 1, 2019, at Dhaka Residential Model School and College ground. During the program, Abrar was electrocuted at around 3:30 pm and lost consciousness. The power connection that was made for the ceremony was unprotected.

It was further said that the safety and precaution required in the electrical system were not taken. Although there was a Suhrawardy Hospital near the spot, Abrar was taken to Mohakhali Universal Medical College and Hospital. Doctors declared Naimul Abrar dead at 4:51 pm after he was electrocuted. Even after this, the news of Abrar’s death was kept hidden by Kishor Alo and the school authorities and the program was continued till 7 pm.
