A case has been filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman and party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir centering the sculpture issue.
Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddique filed the case in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder on Wednesday. The case has been filed for allegedly instigating Islamist leaders for anti-sculpture speech.
Hefazat-e-Islam’s acting Amir Junaid Ahmed Babungari, acting Secretary General Muhammad Mamunul Haque and Mufti Syed Faizul Karim of the Islami Andolon have also been accused in the case for making anti-sculpture statements.
Earlier on 7 December, two sedition cases were filed against Junayed Babunagari, Mohammad Mamunul Haque and Syed Faizul Karim.
