A man was killed after miscreants opened fire on him at Tazpur village under Phultala upazila of Khulna on Friday (December 18).
The deceased was known as Mollah Hemayet Hossain Lipu, 45, an alleged ex-extremist member of Biplabi Communist Party. He was son of late Abdus Samad Mollah.
Phultala police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahatab Uddin confirmed the matter. Quoting locals, OC said, riding motorcycle 4 to 5 miscreants opened fire aiming him around 7:00pm, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was rushed to upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
