A total of 242 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours.
It was said in a notice signed by Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Kibria, Assistant Director of Information Unit of the Directorate of Health on Thursday.
Of the new dengue patients, Dhaka alone saw 221 people being admitted to hospitals in 24 hours. The rest 21 are from outside Dhaka.
According to the Department of Health (DGHS), 5,434 people have been hospitalised with dengue since January this year.
Among the 5,434 infected, 2,534 were diagnosed in August.
At least 2,286 people were hospitalised in different hospitals across the country in July, which was 272 in June while 43 were infected in May.
