Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has showed concern about rising the water levels in different regions, particularly in the riverine areas in Bangladesh. She directed all quarters concerned to keep eyes open to confront floods.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam confirmed the media after a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat that “The water level in different areas, especially in the basins of the Jamuna and the Padma, is rising. That’s why directives have been given to remain alert”
He added that the prime minister attended the meeting virtually from the Gono Bhaban and discussed about all the ministries including state ministry, education ministry, and agriculture ministry’s plan and preparations for the flood prone areas.
