The Prime Minister arrived at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport on a VVIP charter flight of Bangladesh Biman at 11:13 pm on Friday, said Ihsanul Karim, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.
When the Prime Minister arrived at the airport, she was welcomed by cabinet members and senior officials.
Earlier, the Prime Minister left Washington for Dhaka on Thursday afternoon local time.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States at Dallas International Airport. Shahidul Islam and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Rabab Fatima bade her farewell.
This is the first foreign visit of the Prime Minister after 19 months of the epidemic. She last visited Italy in February 2020.
On the way back home, the plane carrying the Prime Minister arrived in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, in the morning local time. After a two-hour break, she left for Dhaka again.
The Prime Minister left Dhaka on a VVIP charter flight of Bangladesh Biman on September 17 to attend the UN General Assembly. She arrived in New York on September 19 after a two-day trip to Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the UN General Assembly sat virtually last year. This year, the world leaders met in person at the 7th session of the General Assembly.
