The Maldives is vaccinating Bangladesh with more than 200,000 doses of Oxford-Astragene corona as a gift. The vaccines are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Friday (October 8th) on a Qatar Airways flight.
This information was given on the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Embassy in Maldives on the night of October 6 (Wednesday).
According to the post, Maldives is gifting 210,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Bangladesh as a token of goodwill.
On the occasion, a bilateral agreement was signed on Wednesday between Maldives Health Minister Ahmed Nasim and Rear Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the country.
The vaccines, gifted by the Maldivian Ministry of Health, are scheduled to arrive at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight tomorrow.
The vaccines, given as a goodwill gesture by the Maldives, are expected to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
