A long-awaited verdict has been postponed in a case filed by a judge in the case of rape of two private university students at Hotel Raintree in the capital’s Banani due to illness of a judge.
The order was passed by the acting judge of the Dhaka Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-Acting as the judge of the tribunal Begum Mosammat Kamrunnahar was on leave due to illness.
October After hearing arguments from both sides, the tribunal set a date for the verdict today.
At the same time, the court canceled the bail of five accused in the case, including Safat Ahmed, son of Dildar Ahmed, owner of Apon Jewelers, and directed to send him to jail.
Apart from Safat Ahmed, the other four accused are his friends Naeem Ashraf and Sadman Shakif, driver Billal Hossain and bodyguard Rahmat Ali.
