RAB-10 has raided and arrested four snatchers from Chawkbazar area of the capital.
Confirming the incident, RAB-10 said that at around 00:20 am on October 12, an expedition team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in the area of Hosni Dalan Road under Chawkbazar Model Police Station in the capital Dhaka and arrested four snatchers.
Names of the arrestees are 1. Md. Rustam Ali (28), 2. Md. Rafiqul Islam Bepari (28), 3. Md. Rani (20) and 4. Ripon Hawladar (19) is known. At that time, 4 knives, 2 mobile phones and cash of tk 1,500 / – (one thousand five hundred) were recovered from them.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the arrestees had been snatching valuables including money and mobile phones for some time by threatening pedestrians with sharp knives in different areas including Chawkbazar.
Regular cases have been filed against the arrested persons at the concerned police station.
