Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said that the anti-independence forces along with the international community are conspiring against the country even at this time of the golden jubilee of independence.
He came up with the comments while speaking to reporters after laying floral wreath at Rayer Bazar Bodhyo Bhumi in the capital on Tuesday.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that in 1971, when the Pakistani military group and its ally Al-Badr, Al-Shams Razakars realized that their defeat was imminent, they killed our intellectuals with the intention of crippling the Bengali nation. Thousands of intellectuals have been killed not only in Dhaka but all over the country.
Regarding the trial of the killers of intellectuals, Hasan Mahmud said, “Of course, our government is committed to the trial of the killers of intellectuals. The trial has taken place and many of the accused are absconding. Our government is trying to bring them back.”
However, the killers of Bangabandhu and intellectuals are hiding in different countries. The government is working to bring them back. The desired cooperation has not yet been received from all quarters.
