Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said that Bangladesh is an example of success in controlling Covid-19. Now that the infection has decreased, it needs to be continued. All hospitals currently have oxygen support.
He came up with the comments while briefing reporters at his office in the Secretariat on Tuesday morning.
Zahid Maleque said that vaccine has played a big role in controlling corona. So far 7 crores first dose and 4.5 crores second dose vaccines have been inoculated.
The health minister said the government has a target of vaccinating 12 to 13 crore people. So far 30 percent of people have been vaccinated.
Highlighting the situation in the world with the new variant of Corona, the Health Minister said that Omicron has spread to 90 countries of the world. It has been detected in our country too. But people do not wear masks and do not follow hygiene rules. Therefore, the government is fearing an increase in Omicron.
Zahid Maleque also said that the Ministry of Health has sent a letter to the DCs and civil surgeons to ensure that people across the country abide by the health rules as before.
