Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has recovered and left the hospital. He left Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital at 10 am on Sunday.
Sheikh Walid Fayez, public relations officer of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, confirmed the information to the media and said that Obaidul Quader has joined the ministry after returning from the hospital. From there, he will take part in virtual events of the day.
Obaidul Quader was admitted to BSMMU on December 14 at 10 am with chest pain. He was undergoing treatment at Cabin No. 312 under Professor Fazlur Rahman of the Cardiology Department.
Meanwhile, after admission to the hospital BSMMU Professor of Cardiology Mostafa Zaman said that Obaidul Quader was already suffering from heart problems. He has difficulty in breathing and cough due to accumulation of water in his lungs.
A medical board was formed for the treatment of Obaidul Quader led by BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Sharfuddin Ahmed. Among others were Pro-VC AKM Mosharraf Hossain, Abu Naser Rizvi, Professor Fazlur Rahman, Professor Atiqur Rahman and Professor Farid Ahmed.
