The owners announced the final decision on Sunday in the presence of all involved with the newspaper.
Shamim A Jahedi, the newspaper’s executive editor, said the newspaper had been shut down for now. The staff has been told that. Everyone will get their deserved payment.
The all-out lockdown started with the closure of offices and courts due to the prevalence of coronavirus in the country. As a result, various offices and courts stopped keeping printed magazines even at home. As a result, newspaper sales in Dhaka and outside Dhaka were halved during the lockdown. In that case printing of some magazines was temporarily stopped to avoid losses. On April 6, 2020, The Independent entered the list.
